Ella makes you sleepy.

While looking through my pictures of the babies, I noticed something: Ella likes to sleep with company. She does nap by herself on occasion, but when it comes to some serious slumber, she'd rather do it tandem.

Hoppy Easter

The Easter Bunny had to bring even more baskets to the Post/Glenski household this year. I'm not sure if he borrows Santa's sleigh or what, but he probably needs to.

First, we had our bunch: Eric (and his wife Nikki), Tyler (with the addition of his girlfriend Lindsay), Nick and Amanda, plus we added Saxon and Ella. Then, as with last year, we added the Milwaukee family with Sara, Corey and Kristeena. That's a lot of candy.

Photobucket
(Is it the Easter Bunny? No, Saxon just wandered too close to his evil sisters.)

We skipped Easter Sunday mass this year because we had been to the epic mass the night before. I was received both the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion during the service, which followed the blessing of Callie and my marriage. It was quite a lot of blessings to lay on a person in one day, but I am now officially a member of the Catholic church.

The secular highlight of the holiday, though, is the annual Easter Parade in Arrow Rock. Amanda and Sara entered into the parade for the second year in a row. Like last year, they sported Easter bonnets they made themselves. This year, however, they also wore period dresses that Sara made before she came down.

The parade and egg hunt were a little too cold for my liking, but everyone had fun and the kids even ate ice cream at the shop on the Arrrow Rock boardwalk. Even Ella sampled the sweet stuff.

Post Photo Post!

I don't have a lot to say since my last post... It's been busy with the renovation and trying to get the house ready for Easter.

The twinfants are doing great, although we did have some boogery noses this week. This was pretty much the first time they've been sick to speak of and other than runny noses and sneezes it wasn't too bad.

But enough jabbering! Bring on the pictures! Here are some snapshots from the last week or so:

Still growing

Well, things are as busy as ever and don't show any signs of letting up. We're in the midst of a basement remodeling job that is waving a fond farewell to the original budget. (Termites and a bit of underestimation will do that!)

On the twinfant front, things are no less busy. Ella has learned how to crawl now and, although she isn't as good at it as Saxon, she is now finding her way into trouble as well.

It is a struggle to keep the floors clean, but Callie is fanatic about it and the rest of us are coming along. -- I'm a dedicated shoe wearer and its hard for me to break the habit!

Photobucket
(Saxon still isn't so sure about the camera)

The twinfants had their most recent doctor visit on Wednesday. It was another trip with Dad flying solo, but we made it okay. It was an interesting trip for me as I learned that the men's restroom at the pediatric clinic does not have a changing station. I mean, the men's room at Wal-Mart has a changing station, but not my doctor's office?

I ended up having to use the women's room. It was this whole production with the receptionist knocking and calling out "Hellooooo? Helloooo?" and then going in to make sure the coast was clear.

Photobucket
(It is official, Ella is growing up too fast)

But the twinfants got their clean dry diapers for weigh-in. Ella tipped the scales at 17 pounds 8 ounces while Saxon came in at 14 pounds 14 ounces. They also got their last round of the RSV vaccine, which is a shot. Ella cried some. Saxon cried...ALOT. With him its like a bomb going off. He sucks in a huge breath, holds it and then lets it all out.

I think he was still feeling some of the effects yesterday and last night, the shots leave him kind of cranky. He was beside himself last night and fell asleep to Amanda and me playing our guitars. But all is well now and this morning he was into mischief as usual.

Amanda bought the guitar herself with all the money she's been earning by babysitting. She's been a great help to Callie and I, and I think she's learned a valuable less about having children:

Where does the time go?

So I guess it's time for my monthly blog post....

It's been very busy and doesn't show any signs of slowing. The babies are getting bigger and bigger and are more mobile than ever. Saxon can crawl anywhere and Ella is hell on wheels in her walker.

Photobucket
(Ella has a go at some mashed potatoes.)

It's strange, but the babies personalities seem to be shifting a bit as they get older. We just past 8 months -- hard to believe, I know-- and Ella is now the baby more inclined to be held. Saxon has gone from the cuddler to the commando as he low crawls his way into "adventure."

Photobucket
(Who needs sleep?)

By "adventure" I obviously mean trouble. If there is something he shouldn't have, he locks in on it like radar and crawls for it as fast as he can. If you move the object or intercept him, it makes him very upset. You will likely see his "hulk" face, as in - You wouldn't like me when I'm angry. It looks like this:

Photobucket
(RAAWWRRR!)

Callie has been back to work for a while now and the babies and I do much better on our own now. We've got a bit of a routine that works most of the time and preserves my sanity for the most part. I also use my days off on Wednesdays to spend quality time with the twinfants.

Photobucket
(Wednesday mornings are spent in the sunny living room.)

What amazes me is looking back at their older photos and seeing how much Ella and Saxon have grown. For example, these are the twinfants today:

And this is how they looked in the same chair their first week home:

Pretty amazing, isn't it?

Doctor, Doctor

The twinfants and I had an adventure yesterday: Our first trip to the doctor without any help from anyone.

Photobucket
(They don't do it all the time, but the twinfants are holding their own bottles.)

In the past, I have always had someone to give me a hand. However, for the last two appointments, Callie has worked on the night before the appointment and needed to sleep. Last time it wasn't a big deal because Amanda was out of school and able to help me out.

Photobucket
(Being a breach-baby made Saxon very flexible. He likes his feet.)

This time, however, we were on our own. And we did GREAT, thank you very much. It took us a little more time to strip down for our weigh-in, but we got it done.

Photobucket
(Ella asserts her claim on the toys by touching them.)

The roughest part was getting the babies shots. Ella went first as she usually cries a bit less. I calmed her down and we for Saxon. then Ella started to cry again but only until Saxon got stuck. His shriek immediately quieted her.

Photobucket
(Saxon is getting more into the Christmas toys from Grandma and Grandpa)

As of this visit, Ella weighed in at 16 pounds even, Saxon was nearly two pounds lighter at 13 pounds 15.5 ounces,

For those of you who have facebook, there are many more new photos there.

Long Overdue

What the heck happened to this blog? Ummmm.... My dog ate it?

Seriously, I had initially planned to do a post-Christmas wrap up, but like an idiot, I too busy watching Nick and Amanda help Ella and Saxon unwrap their presents that I forgot to take pictures. So then I figured I'd get photos from my dad who took some when he came up after Christmas. But I forgot to ask him and then it was nearly the middle of January, so I had missed the opportunity to make my New Year's post.

Photobucket
(Saxon on the move in the living room.)

So here we are in the first week of February... And I have NEW, never before seen, photos to post. It's a big batch, so I'll probably have to spread them out over the next few days. I did, however, post them all to my Facebook, so if you are my friend you can see them all there.

Photobucket
(Ella enjoying some time in her walker)

The twinfants are doing very well and are getting bigger and bigger. They hit the six month mark on January 18 and neither one of them fit very well into clothing sized in the 3-6 month category. Ella is still the heavier of the two, but we also had to move Saxon along into the 9-month size with the last batch of onesies and pants.

Photobucket
(If you look closely, you can see the six-inches of drool hanging from his lip)

The are also very much more mobile than they were when I last posted. They require constant supervision because they absolutely will NOT stay where you put them. They can both roll over without any problems and we are in the early stages of crawling right now. Saxon is the one more likely to do crawl, although it's more like he pulls himself Army-style with his arms. He kicks his legs, but they aren't part of the effort just yet.

Photobucket
(Ella has a healthy appetite. She even tried to eat my camera)

Ella's choice for mobility is the walker Granny and Grandpa Post got them for Christmas. She seems to have the longer legs and is better at getting them to work. However, she is still far more likely to go backward than forward. Saxon likes the walker, too, but gets the most enjoyment out of it when Amanda pushes him up and down the hallway yelling "Saxon Speedy Delivery Service!"

Photobucket
(I really like Saxon's expression in this pic)

Another area of development that continues to amaze me is their vocal improvement. Now, neither of them have formed words yet, but Saxon seems like he could be on the verge any day. He jabbers away almost constantly. Ella is more reserved with her words, but she has a free-flowing laugh that melts my heart no matter how many times I hear it.
